Pitch Deck

VaultScore™

PitchVault's proprietary 0–100 score rating a pitch deck against real investor criteria.

VaultScore™ is PitchVault's proprietary scoring system that rates a pitch deck on a scale of 0 to 100 against the same criteria institutional investors use when evaluating early-stage companies.

The score is calculated across eight dimensions: problem clarity, solution fit, market size, traction, business model, team credibility, competitive positioning, and the fundraising ask. Each dimension is weighted based on its relative importance at the company's stated funding stage — which founders select before running the analysis.

Stage calibration changes how dimensions are weighted. At Pre-seed, Team (25%) and Problem & Market (25%) together account for half the score — investors are betting on founder-market fit before traction exists. At Seed, Traction & Metrics and Solution each carry 20%, reflecting that the product must demonstrate real engagement. At Series A, Traction alone accounts for 30%, because evidence of a repeatable growth model becomes the dominant signal. This means the same deck can score meaningfully differently depending on the stage selected — which is why accurate stage selection matters.

Scores fall into five bands: 85–100 (Investor-ready — strong across all criteria), 70–84 (Near investor-ready — compelling thesis with 1–2 gaps), 55–69 (Needs work — real potential but 3+ areas that would cause an investor to pause), 40–54 (Significant gaps — concept is fundable but the deck isn't doing it justice), and 0–39 (Not investor-ready — fundamental issues requiring major rework).

VaultScore™ is the first of PitchVault's four investor lenses. Pro users also receive VaultMoat™ (defensibility and competitive moat analysis), VaultRisk™ (a 12-dimension risk profile where lower is better), and VaultOps™ (a 7-dimension operational readiness assessment built on Theory of Constraints). Together, the four lens scores give founders and approved investors a complete picture that no single number can capture. Founders who clear all four lens thresholds become eligible for the Investor Feed — direct visibility to active investors on the platform.
